Dr. Vidhya Satish

Vidhya is a passionate teacher educator. Her journey as a teacher was one by chance and not by choice but she believes that this was the best thing to have happened to her. Her experiences in life make her believe that life comes in full circles and that we need to be grateful for everything. From a primary teacher to the head of the institution, her varied experiences have helped her become a better individual. She is warm, friendly, chatty, honest and has an immense sense of attention to detail. She has completed her doctorate in Human Development and master's in education from the University of Mumbai. She stood first in the University in her master's degree in Human development from the University of Madras. Her love for writing has made her author and co-author chapters in various books both Indian and International. She has presented more than 35 conceptual and research papers in National and International conferences, and they have been published. Qualitative research is her specific area of interest. She has been a trainer for more than two decades conducting motivational and ECE curriculum related workshops for students, along with teacher and parent empowerment workshops at various forums. Her greatest joy comes while she is in class teaching students of various courses. She is an executive committee member of the Association for Early Childhood Education and Development and actively participates in all the programs that aim to foster the development of children in the early years. Her interests include creative artwork, gardening, reading books and needlework. She is interested in spirituality and seeks to understand one’s true nature. Her favourite quote is one by Hiam Ginnot - "Children are like wet cement. Anything that falls on it creates an impression”.

Ms. Rupal Vora

Rupal is the faculty and Coordinator of the counselling courses at SIES Institute of Comprehensive Education for the past 21 years. She is an alumna of the prestigious Delhi School of Social Work where she completed her post-graduation in Social Work, and it is at SIES Institute of Comprehensive Education she completed her Post Graduate Diploma in Guidance and Counselling. She has also cleared the National Eligibility Test Exam. Her rich experience ranges from working as community worker in Delhi to a Counsellor at a Deaddiction Center to a Social Worker at the Crime Against Women Cell, Delhi Police Headquarters to being an honorary counselor at SIES School and KVO Family Growth Center. She is a volunteer with The Foundation, an NGO which conducts awareness sessions on Child Sexual Abuse for the public. She has authored, co-authored, and presented papers at National and International Seminars. Her articles have been published in journals of the same. She displays a love for learning and attends various workshops, seminars and training programs related to the field of counselling in particular. She has this child-like enthusiasm when she is drawn to a particular thing. At the institute she likes to devise new courses and programs and loves to network with professionals in the field. Reading, art appreciation and gardening are her hobbies.

Ms. Lakshmi Shivakumar

Lakshmi is a true example of "Good things come in small packages”. One would find her moving around with students, helping the ones that need that little push and conducting lectures which are well-researched. She has been associated with the SIES Institute of Comprehensive Education, Sion, Mumbai for the last eight years in the position of Faculty and Coordinator for the Early Childhood Teacher Education programs. Lakshmi has a rich educational background. She holds the Montessori Diploma from Associate Montessori International (AMI) at Ratan Tata Institute after which she worked at a Montessori Environment for over 5 years. Her love for learning made her complete an M.A. in Early Childhood Care and Education from Alagappa University. Lakshmi was one of the topper students of the Two-Year University of Mumbai affiliated Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education program with SIES Institute of Comprehensive Education. She was immediately asked to join the institute on course completion. She has a special interest in the field of special education also. Lakshmi is a voracious reader, music enthusiast, a movie buff and is a polyglot having mastered 7 languages. Stepping into the shoes of a teacher was destined to happen rather late in life for her. She considers this profession to be the most endearing profession, something that helps her pave way for change and foster women empowerment. She regularly conducts workshops on diverse topics ranging from Creativity, Rhymes and Storytelling and also academics as well as self-help and personal grooming.

She believes that the spirit of a teacher ought to be kept alive and learning is the only means to do so.

Ms. Nikita Mehta

Nikita comes out as a smart, creative, immaculately well-dressed and extremely resourceful individual. She has a keen sense of attention to detail and likes to think out-of-the-box. She is an alumna of our own institute having completed the P.G. Diploma in Early Childhood Education. She worked in prestigious schools across Mumbai before joining our institute. Her quest for new learning led to the completion of a bachelor's and master's degree in education from the University of Mumbai. Nikita is curious, inquisitive, eager for knowledge and likes to inquire, research, and ask questions. She is interested in technology and attempts new tech-based learning to her students. She is passionate about bringing newness in her job and always aims for task completion. She connects well with her students and makes sure no stone is left unturned to fill their knowledge. Her journey reflects dedication and determination to excel from being an assistant teacher to a teacher trainer. Nikita believes in the quote by Scott Hayden "Teachers have three loves: love of learning, love of learners, and the love of bringing the first two loves together”.

Ms. Kavitha Krishnamurthy

Kavitha is a teacher who is fun, creative and yet serious when she conducts lectures. Her search for a satisfying career led her to take up the Postgraduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education program at SIES Institute of Comprehensive Education and emerge as the topper of the course. She joined SIES as a Teacher Trainer and has been working as a faculty member for the past three years. As a creative person with an open mind, she always seeks new learning. A goal towards perfection touched with a zest of fun and joy are her mantras to life. You would find Kavitha joyfully singing songs and reciting rhymes and at the same time conducting a science workshop with utmost sincerity, dedication and diligence. As a motivated learner she believes in the quote, "One who graduated yesterday and stops learning today is uneducated by tomorrow.”

Ms. Bhakti Gala

Bhakti can often be mistaken as a student. Young, vibrant and active, she is what a typical youngster would be – curious, tech savvy and with good analytical skills. As a topper of the P.G. Diploma in Early Childhood Education course, she is very sincere and hardworking. Her professional career started as a preschool educator and then she went on to complete her bachelor's and master's degree in Education from Pillai College of Education and Research. She has been a faculty at SIES Institute of Comprehensive Education for the last three years. Her love for new learning and writing has led her to attending numerous seminars, webinars and conferences. She has authored two chapters in books- One on "Decoding SDG in Classroom - A Teacher's Handbook - Lesson Plans on SDGs.” and "Women Empowerment towards a Progressive Nation.” Bhakti is passionate and extremely dedicated to her work.
